Velia has two unesco world heritage: in 1997 as a reserve and in 1998 for the precious historic heritage. It is one of the rare site which has two rewards like this. Is was the cradle of the european culture because here lived the famous philosophers: Parmenide and Zenone. These two important thinkers seduced people like Hegel, Nietzsche and Einstein and their theories are still at the bottom of physical and mathematical considerations. Today Velia is an archeologicaal site, it can be visited but there are no public trasport to get here and no sponsoring.
